Q. HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER
A.Download the membership application from our Association Documents page and return or fax when completed - fax# 843-839-8072.

Q. HOW DO I BECOME AN AFFILIATE MEMBER
A.Fill out application from the member services page and pay the pro-rated dues for the year.

Q. HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED CONTINUING ED
A. If you have taken a Code of Ethics class CCAR will have record of that, for all other classes contact Fortune Academy or HGTC. CCAR does not keep track of your hours ? there are too many vendors offering courses.

Q. WHAT IS MY NRDS NUMBER
A.It is a 9 digit number that is assigned by the National Association of REALTORS. You can get this number from www.realtor.org

Q. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO PAY MY MEMBERSHIP DUES
A.Membership invoices are sent in October and payable on or before January 1st. If they are not paid there will be a 10% late fee added. If they have not paid by then, their MLS service is discontinued and member status becomes inactive in the National Association of REALTORS®

Q. HOW MUCH ARE MEMBERSHIP DUES
A.You must contact the Membership office 843-626-3638 for current prorating.

Q. WHERE CAN I SEARCH THE MLS LISTINGS ON YOUR WEBSITE
A.Click the "SEARCH THE MLS" Link in the upper right hand corner this website.

Q. DOES A CONDOMINIUM HAVE TO HAVE A SELLER'S PROPERTY DISCLOSURE
A.Yes

Q. I CANNOT FIND AN MLS# THAT USED TO BE IN THE SYSTEM
A.The listing has expired, to view you must go into the Paragon menu LISTINGS > MAINTAIN LISTINGS

Q. HOW IS A SECTION/SUBDIVISION ADDED TO THE MLS
A.Contact the MLS Coordinator, dianne@ccarsc.org with the exact name of the section/subdivision, what class or classes it is and location.

Q. WHAT PALM DEVICES OR SMART PHONES WORK WITH THE EKEY SOFTWARE
A.Go to Paragon and Click on MLS Docs. Click on Supra Info.

Q. NO SEARCH RESULTS / NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN SEARCHING
A.Go to the Paragon login page but instead of logging on, click on the 'System Checker' button. Click on the option to Run and follow all prompts. Restart your computer when finished.

Q. WHEN USING PARAGON THE MESSAGE APPEARS - "YOU CURRENTLY HAVE A CONTACT MANAGER WINDOW OPEN"
A.Go to the Paragon login page but instead of logging on, click on the 'System Checker' button. Click on the option to Run and follow all prompts. Restart your computer when finished.

Q. EMPTY OR NO LOGIN RESPONSE MESSAGE DURING PARAGON 3 DESKTOP INSTALLATIONS OR DOWNLOAD.
A.Once logged into paragon desktop check the menu item PREFERENCES > USER COMMUNICATION SETUP verify host name also see if user has Norton Internet Security. (If so, consult MLS DOCS > SOLUTIONS > NORTON INTERNET SECURITY)

Q. AGENT PHONE NUMBER NOT SHOWING ON LISTING
A.Go to the Paragon menu bar >Preferences > User > Search Tab. check mark box "show phone number with agent name". This will provide a drop down box that you can select any phone number that is listed with the Association.

Q. WHAT IS IDX
A.IDX (Internet Data Exchange) allows the display of MLS listing content on your website. You can subscribe to links through your MLS account or use a MLS search solution provided by a web site company. If you are unsure what your needs or capabilities are, check with your web site provider and the MLS department.

Q. HOW DO YOU ORDER IDX
A.Contact the MLS department: 843-626-3638

Q. I CANNOT EMAIL OUT OF PARAGON
A.Go to the Paragon login page but instead of logging on, click on the 'System Checker' button. Click on the option to Run and follow all prompts. Restart your computer when finished. Contact the MLS department if you are getting a message that your email address is invalid

Q. WHAT INFO DO I USE WHEN SETTING UP PARAGON DESKTOP
A.You must be sure to select "Connect to a Web Server". Address will be ccar.fnismls.com and the Site ID will be CCAR. It is recommended that the setup booklet be followed. If one is needed request one from CCAR.

Q. PARAGON SAYS THAT MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS INVALID
A.You must respond to the verification email from the paragon system. The sender of this email is noreply@fnismls.com. You may need to check your bulk email folder. Contact the Association if you need another verification request sent.

Q. CANNOT SEE THE MENU BUTTONS IN PARAGON 4
A.Possible issue with firewall settings, if you need assistance call 843-626-3638

Q. HOW CAN I PAY MY BILLS ONLINE
A. Go to the Realtor Member benefits page and clicking the Bill Payment Link. There is also a ?pay bills online? under REALTOR® links on the Paragon homepage.

Q. WHEN DO I NEED TO TAKE MY 8 HOURS OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
A. Check the expiration of your license. If it expires on 6/30/08 then you need certificates showing 8 hours of MCE dated since 6/30/06. At least 2 of those hours must be a core course (law updates). We do not keep those records here at the Association. If you have taken hours and cannot find your certificate, you will need to contact the school you attended for a certificate. If you are audited by LLR, you will have to submit your certificates as proof. If you cannot, your license will be suspended. Make sure to keep your documentation of MCE in case you need it in the future. Do not depend on your office staff to keep up with this. Failure to complete continuing education will result in loss of license.

Q. HOW LONG DOES A BUYER HAVE TO MAKE UP HIS MIND ON A COUNTEROFFER
A. There is no set time limit unless seller specifies offer expires on a certain date.

Q. THERE IS A COMPANY THAT WILL NOT CO-BROKE WITH ME, WHAT CAN I DO
A. If the company is a member of the Association, they have to co-broke. After they've spoken to the BIC, they can file a complaint. If they are not members, they do not have to co-broke.

Q. I HAVE A NC LICENSE, HOW CAN I GET A SC LICENSE THROUGH RECIPROCITY
A. Contact LLR. (803-896-4400)

Q. MY CONTRACT TO SELL IS CONTINGENT ON FINANCING FOR THE BUYER, WHAT IF THE BUYER DOES NOT APPLY ACCORDING TO THE CONTRACT
A. If the Buyer doesn't apply and provide necessary information to obtain a loan, the Buyer is in default and forfeits his earnest money.

Q. THE REAL ESTATE COMPANY WON'T RELEASE MY EARNEST MONEY, WHAT CAN I DO
A. If the amount is less than $7,500, request that the company turn it over to Magistrate's Court to disburse.

Q. MY PROPERTY IS PENDING AND MY AGENT NEVER RECEIVED THE EARNEST MONEY PER THE CONTRACT, WHAT CAN I DO
A. If the contract indicates earnest money and the agent did not collect it, then it's the agent's fault. Talk to the BIC.

Q. HOW DO I FIND OUT IF SOMEONE IS LICENSED
A. Go to the LLR (Real Estate Commissions Web Site and do a licensee look up.

Q. HOW DO I FILE A COMPLAINT
A. The following questions must be asked! 1) Who is the agent -are they a member of CCAR 2) How long ago did the incident happen (Time limit of 180 days) 3) have they TRIED to contact the BROKER (the Grievance Committee WILL NOT review complaint unless they have attempted to speak with the BROKER. Only after those questions have been answered will CCAR mail out a complaint.
